Whoop whoop, having just relocated to Australia I’m trying to keep up with everything, so far we’re loving it!
Wohooo – we’ve arrived in Sydney, it’s in the middle of a warm, tropical night. Friendly, pragmatic, well-equipped … so many pleasant impressions in the first couple of hours, we’ve got a certain feeling we’ll like it here – like it a lot 😉
Immigration is smooth – don’t even receive a stamp in our passports as all our visa info is electronically here.
The taxi driver is a loverly chap from one of the Pacific Islands who came to Oz 20+ years ago and loves to share his story.
The apartment we stay in for the first couple of weeks, is super centrally located in Bondi Junction. My train to work leaves directly from the basement of the building, shops and all the delicious Asian food places are right here plus we get to experience a pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Absolutely loving it!
Good thing is: our apartment’s got a fully equipped kitchen we go to explore the local supermarkets Coles and Woolworths (Woolies) to cook our own meals: grilled octopus with Ping Link fish and kangaroo goulash 🙂
Our first days are busy with opening our bank accounts, getting an Aussie phone number and applying for our TFN.
We love it here – Sydney is such a green city with tropical flair and one is never far from the next beach. Still need to get used to simply wear a shirt, no need for a jacket, it’s warm 🙂
Below some pics and more to come from us shortly …
